FLATLAND
CAROLE  LANDISMAN

C Landisman.jpg

Carol Landisman examines the distortions of perception due to the limits of our physical contraints, our personal iases and changes in perspective. As a metaphor for our desires and attempts to understand the inexplicable, Flatland presents geometric projections of 4 dimensional cues onto flat wooden panels, using acrylic paint and multi-chrome pigments. Color-shifting pigments hint at additional unseen dimensions and illustrate our perceptual dependence on context changes in light intensity over the course of the day.
